New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR) www.nymir.org
The New York Municipal Insurance Reciprocal (NYMIR), which we created in conjunction with municipal officials throughout the state, was designed to address the unique needs of NYS municipalities. Through this program, Wright Risk Management has provided reciprocal management of property and casualty alternatives to municipalities since 1993. Today, NYMIR has approximately 600 member municipalities throughout New York State.
Sponsored by the New York State Conference of Mayors, Association of Towns, and Association of Counties, NYMIR was formed to provide a stable cost-effective insurance program for New York States local governments, WRM organized and licensed NYMIR and as program manager provides underwriting, claims and risk management, accounting, marketing and regulatory compliance services for NYMIR.

In 2003 WRM and the Board of Directors of the Municipal Interlocal Risk Management Agency (MIRMA) worked together to create a Property and Casualty (PAL) program for the public sector in Connecticut. This program was an extension of the existing MIRMA program, which wrote Workers Compensation coverage only. The MIRMA PAL program, utilizing local Connecticut agencies, makes available the traditional P&C coverages to municipalities and schools throughout the state in a manner customized to serve and support the needs of Connecticut public entities.
