Schools are dedicated to excellence in education, but administrators must also devote attention to potential liability arising from risks in the school environment. WRM helps school administrators identify and manage risk in a host of areas including, the physical surroundings, safety in art classrooms and athletic programs, transportation and employment practices. WRM has worked diligently with both public and private schools, helping clients resolve their risk financing needs. For instance, we have been providing program administration for more than 220 public schools districts in more than 20 independent self-insured workers compensation pools since 1978. We consulted on a cooperative school district study that became the New York Benefits for Educators and Students Trust (NYBEST) - a program for the management and administration of public school employee benefits. WRM is currently working to bring its expertise with schools and municipalities in the northeast to the national arena in a comprehensive risk financing and risk management program. This program will ultimately be available to private and public schools, colleges, and universities as well as municipalities nationwide.
